The day
Sophie and Brad tied the knot on a spectacular Melbourne afternoon, with their closest family and friends by their side. The couple exude incredible warmth and humour, and are so much fun to be around.
Brad, along with his brothers, got ready at Sophie and Brad’s inner Richmond apartment, a stone’s throw from their ceremony venue; Glasshaus Outside. This space is a hidden gem, a glasshouse setting with green vertical walls and beautiful hanging foliage.
The Prince Hotel was the perfect chic backdrop for Sophie’s preparations, with her sister by her side, and the brilliant Zoe Karlis on hair + makeup. We were lucky enough to work alongside the incredibly talented Katie Harmsworth. Katie has an innate ability to find the most glorious light everyone she shoots, and we just adore filming alongside her. You can see all the amazing photos from the day here.
It was important to Sophie and Brad that their many nieces and nephews play an important role in the day, and they were so cute walking down the aisle. Brad was speechless when Sophie appeared, breathtaking in her Mariana Hardwick gown and mermaid-like waves of hair. Zena Lythgo conducted a beautiful ceremony, recounting the couple’s first meeting and subsequent romantic journey.
The Glasshaus Inside is such a wonderful ceremony location, with the guests enjoying post-ceremony drinks before the short walk to the reception location at Glasshaus Outside. Sophie and Brad chose a cocktail reception, and you can see how amazing the space looked, with furniture from Dann Event Hire, and catering and bar from Four Side Events.
Sophie and Brad’s guests had travelled from all around the world to be a part of their day, with many coming from New Zealand, Brad’s home country. They enjoyed hilarious speeches and toasts to the couple, and then hit the dancefloor with DJ Aleks Mac on tunes. Thanks so much to Sophie and Brad for inviting us to capture this incredible day.
