The day
Madeline and Taylor originally planned to marry in October 2020, but were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone. They chose a sunny Thursday in February 2021 to be wed. The lead up to the wedding hid a sudden roadblock when Victoria was thrust into a 5-day COVID lockdown. Heartbroken but stoic, they received great news when the lockdown was lifted only hours before they said “I do”.
Both Maddie and Taylor got ready on site at Mitchelton’s boutique accomodation, with friends and family making the two-hour journey from Melbourne. Mitchelton is nestled on the banks of the Goulburn River, home to rustic fine dining and serene views. Alongside our friend and superb talent Bianca Virtue, we had great fun and laughs with the couple and their big bridal party.
There wasn’t a dry eye when Maddie, in her custom Elly Sofocli gown, was walked down the aisle by her dad. With Damon Hughes conducting the ceremony, the two exchanged heartfelt vows full of emotion and humour. The couple walked back down the aisle to the most epic flower toss and confetti canon, one of my favourite parts of the day.
The guests were treated to dinner and dancing in the Montage room, exquisitely styled by Stasia Fox. We snuck out for sunset photos with the couple - the Goulburn Valley boasts the most stunning sunsets and we were so thrilled to capture it. With the incredible Like This Band as entertainment, the dance floor kicked off the very minute Maddie + Taylor entered the room. It was an incredible atmosphere and we’re so happy Maddie + Taylor were able to have their perfect day.
