The day
Kate and Will’s wedding day exuded elegance, with every aspect of the day styled to perfection. The couple were married on a perfect summer Friday afternoon in the heritage Como gardens, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
The couple met while on Contiki in Europe, and for Will it was love at first sight. He romanced Kate in Paris, and she was smitten soon after. They knew their destiny was to be together, so Will moved across the world to Melbourne to start their life.
Both the ceremony and reception were exquisitely styled by Weddings of Desire, with florals by Wild Flos, stationary by Lejour, and a champagne bar by Mr B. Will held back tears when Kate walked down the aisle, and the ceremony - conducted by our favourite Megan Watson - was the perfect mix of warmth and humour.
Will’s Scottish heritage was on display, with bagpipers leading the couple back down the aisle. While the guests enjoyed champagne in the manicured Como gardens, the couple and their bridal party enjoyed a photo session with renowned international photographer - and our wonderful friend - Bek Smith.
The reception was held at Half Acre, an elegant rustic space in industrial South Melbourne. As one of Food & Desire’s signature venues, Half Acre’s timber feature wall and high ceilings is perfect for any event. While guests dined, we listened to heartfelt speeches from their family and friends, and then danced the night away with the help of Rutherford Entertainment.
